2012 June, 22. - 30.
Brucknerhaus Linz / Austria

Artistic Director: Steven Mead

Competition, Workshops, Concerts, Conferences, Exhibition .......

We are in the last days now before our momentous gathering in Linz. The low brass fraternity of the world are making final plans for the journey to Austria for what promises to be a truly remarkable week of music-making.

We have assembled the very best players in the world who will perform both incredible world premieres and well loved classics from the repertoire. There are thought provoking seminars, where you can learn everything from the most modern teaching techniques for brass playing to the most historical research into the beginnings of our low brass world.
Almost every musical style is covered, and you will hear the baritone, euphonium and tuba performed with a variety of accompaniments, from piano, percussion ensemble, marimba, brass band, string quartet, electronics as well as wind orchestras and symphony orchestra. At the beginning of the week we will see over 200 young and highly talented performers in action in the competitions, with I'm sure, as high a level of low brass performance that we've ever heard before.
We will be presenting the absolute best young players in the world, as well as some of the most experienced and acclaimed professionals that have ever graced the low brass scene. Take a look at the incredible lineup of clinicians and artists and ensembles that will be meeting in Linz.

This is a landmark moment in our musical development as brass players. We can all learn from each other, be stimulated by this state-of-the-art gathering and create what we sincerely hope can be life changing experiences for all those present.

We would advise you to register NOW, as you make your plans to attend. It would be a pity if your first experience at the Brucknerhaus was to join a queue of 200 people waiting to register! It takes just minutes to do it online  here on this site and we would really appreciate you doing this now.

As well as the serious business of world-class performances we know, and we are sure, that the incredible location for this ITEC will make it all so one of the most ‘social’ and fun conferences/festivals that you could ever hope to attend. After a long day listening to wonderful musicians and inspiring clinicians, you can relax with your favourite drink, watch the River Danube flow past, listen to live low brass jazz and discuss with your favourite musicians. It really doesn't get any better than this!

I look forward to meeting you all there in Linz in just a very short time from now. I wish all those coming from every far-flung country in the world save travel, for you and your instrument, and let's enjoy these tremendous days together.
